Travel to Portugal with the tranquillity of a complete travel insurance and updated to the new reality of the pandemic caused by COVID-19.
Foreigner visitors planning their holidays in Portugal can now take out Portugal Travel Insurance, a travel insurance adapted to the new pandemic caused by Covid-19. The initiative is promoted by RNA Seguros de Assistência, and is available at portugaltravelinsurance.com.
The coverage is extended to the entire national territory and covers, among others, medical, surgical, pharmaceutical and hospital expenses associated with Covid-19, as well as cancellation, interruption or holiday period extension expenses, also due to the same pandemic. The objective is to guarantee visitors to Portugal, that they can travel around the country, safely and with confidence.
This is yet another initiative that Turismo de Portugal is disseminating to international markets to strengthen the security of the destination, which comes in addition to the creation of the Clean & Safe Stamp and the renewal of the Portugal Health Passport, which now includes Covid-19 tests and to be available to all who visit the country.
Tourists planning to visit Portugal will be able to register for free on the Health Passport through the PortugalHealthPassport website, which guarantees them the possibility of carrying out the Covid-19 test and access, at previously fixed prices, to urgent high-quality healthcare, five different types of check-ups, at CUFnetwork of clinics and hospitals’, Hospital da Luz, HPA Saúde and Lusíadas, throughout the national territory.
Since the creation of the Clean & Safe Stamp in April, there are already more than 21,000 members. The initiative, recognising the Directorate-General for Health recommendations and the safety procedures implemented in tourist activities, focuses on the confidence necessary for the recovery, on the demand side but also on the supply side, covering the entire supply chain, raising tourism value. The Clean & Safe platform (portugalcleanandsafe.com) has been gathering great support and as companies resume their activity, the number of interactions on the degree of confidence regarding hygiene and cleaning compliance measures has grown.
Through initiatives and projects of this nature, Portugal consolidates its position as a safe destination that guarantees all the essential safe travel conditions to enjoy unique tourist experiences. In addition, in order to project the country and encourage the resumption of tourism activities, Turismo de Portugal Teams, present in 25 strategic markets, have also intensified their work with airlines, tour operators, the press and the final consumer. The actions developed, positioned Portugal as a tourist destination of excellence, one of the goals of the Tourism Strategy 2027.
