Oman earns over USD 252 million revenue from hotel industry

The hotel industry in Oman continues to register positive growth. The revenues of hotels classified as three–five stars, exceeded RO 97 million (USD 252 million), as at the end of June 30, 2015, while the number of hotel guests during the period reached 556,622, according to the latest figures issued by Oman’s National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), show that. The tourist arrivals also showed promising growth with NCSI data on tourists revealing that, about 1.14 million visitors came to the Sultanate, till the end of June 2015.

Non-Omani Gulf visitors topped the list of visitors at 367,542 in June 2015, followed by Indian visitors, who stood at 131,341. These were followed by British visitors at 76,520 and Germans at 61,729 respectively. The total number of departing visitors, who came to the Sultanate for tourist purposes, reached 2,491,000 till the end of June 2015.
