World Travel Awards – the pre-eminent awards programme in the tourism and hospitality industry – has unveiled its Asia 2020 winners to coincide with its inaugural Asia Winners Day.
Creative Travel has been awarded as ‘India’s Leading Destination Management Company’ and their specialist brand JungleSutra Wildlife & Experiential Journeys has been awarded as ‘India’s Leading Experiential Holiday Company’ by the World Travel Awards on the 3rd of November at the 2020 Asia Virtual Winners Day. This achievement is the reward for their work over the past. This brings their tally to a resounding 24 wins of the globally-acclaimed WTAs.
World Travel Awards celebrates its 27th anniversary in 2020. Hailed as ‘The Oscars of the Travel Industry’ World Travel Awards seek to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry, its annual program is renowned as the most prestigious and comprehensive in the global tourism industry. WTA was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry. Today, the WTA brand is recognized globally as the ultimate hallmark of quality, with winners setting the benchmark to which all others aspire. Each year, WTA covers the globe with a series of regional gala ceremonies staged to recognize and celebrate individual and collective success within each key geographical region and these ceremonies are widely regarded as the best networking opportunities in the travel industry, attended by government and industry leaders, luminaries and international print and broadcast media. The results follow a year-long search for the world’s top travel, tourism and hospitality brands. Votes were cast by travel industry professionals and the public, with the nominee gaining the most votes in a category named as the winner.
On winning these awards, Rajeev Kohli, Joint Managing Director, Creative Travel, said, “In this challenging year for all of us in tourism, sometimes even a small moment of happiness goes a long way in boosting morale. These awards have put a smile on our faces and warmed our hearts. We are incredibly grateful to our partners and friends across the world for their never-ending support. We also feel loved by our team members across our system who have stood by us in this most difficult time. We treasure them all. Winning this year is incredibly special for us. When tourism rebounds (which we are confident of) our partners will want assurance that they are booking only with the very best. We hope this small achievement adds to our credibility as being amongst the best DMCS in South Asia.”
India fended off stiff competition to emerge as ‘Asia’s Leading Destination’, whilst the Philippines was acknowledged with awards for ‘Asia’s Leading Beach Destination’ and ‘Asia’s Leading Dive Destination’. Sri Lanka’s wealth of adrenaline offerings led it to the title of ‘Asia’s Leading Adventure Tourism Destination’.
