TIES appoints B A. Rahim Aslam as the Chapter Head for Maharashtra state

The International Ecotourism Society on September 18, 2020, appointed A. Rahim Aslam as the Chapter Head for Maharashtra state for a duration of two years. He will be the sole authority for The International Ecotourism Society within the state.

A. Rahim Aslam is well known in the Indian tourism industry as an entrepreneur in the global hospitality representation business and over the years he has made his mark in the travel world. He is the Founder and Advisor of ‘One Above’, a Representation company, which is among the global leaders in Destination Management with 25 offices operating in 90 destinations. He also serves the industry through his involvement in various tourism organisations and associations in India. He was the South India Chapter Chairperson for OTOAI {Outbound Tour Operators Association of India} and currently holds the General Secretary post at SIGTOA (South Indian Global Tour operators Association).

The International Ecotourism Society (TIES) is a non-profit industry association dedicated to promoting ecotourism. Founded in 1990, TIES has been at the forefront of the development of ecotourism during the past decades, providing guidelines and standards, training, technical assistance, research and publications. Representing members from over 90 countries, TIES’ global network of ecotourism professionals and travelers is leading the efforts to make tourism a viable tool for conservation, protection of bio-cultural diversity, and sustainable community development.
