The second season of the Wajid Ali Shah program concluded on February 24, 2015 in Lucknow with a tribute to one of the most passionate and radical poet-philosopher of the 13th century, Jelaluddin Rumi. Host to the Rumiana session was the iconic La Martiniere College, seated in the chapel with poet and performing artist Murad Ali lending his mature and intense voice to the powerful poems of Rumi, you realized no setting could have been more perfect.

Staying true to the name of Wajid Ali Shah, the last king of Awadh, who was considered a cultural provocateur of his times, the festival showcased a panoply of festival events that included evening and day programs, festival talks, a free musical ballet directed by Muzaffar Ali, vintage car tours, satiating introduction to Awadhi cuisine, insight into the Lucknow Gharana of Kathak dance style, along with curated walks to Lucknow’s landmark monuments.
