Orange County, Kabini among ‘25 World’s Best Ecolodges 2013’

Orange County, Kabini in Karnataka has been selected as one among the ‘25 World’s Best Ecolodges 2013’, listed by the National Geographic Traveller (US and Canadian Editions). Orange County, Kabini is the only resort selected from India to be part of the list, as per a release. At the resort, guests are drawn into the social tapestry of the local Kadu Kuruba tribe, while having a wildlife experience. Visitors explore Nagarhole National Park (Kabini).

The region hosts the largest congregation of Asian elephants in summer, along with housing other flagship species such as the leopard and wild dog. Mud-and-thatch huts at Orange County, Kabini built in ethnic style of the indigenous Kuruba tribes feature luxurious interiors while also minimising the environmental footprint. The lodge helps showcase the Kuruba heritage using interactive storytelling sessions, cultural performances, and coracle rides.
