Odisha seeking tourism investments

The eastern Indian state of Odisha is making great efforts to promote investment in the many tourism projects in the state, which has come out with a conducive industrial and tourism policy.
The State and the Federation of Hotel and Restaurants Association of India (FHRAI) yesterday, September 17, 2015, mounted an awareness campaign to impress potential investors to come to the state. Tourism Minister Ashok Panda and officials listed several reasons to justify investments, saying that political stability, friendly rules, and great tourism potential, with many attractions, were some reasons to put money in the state projects.

Good connectivity – air, rail, and road – were some other reasons.The vast Chilka Lake and Shamuka beach area have been particularly identified for investors, where a large number of varied projects can be lucrative.The FHRAI is holding its 50th annual convention in the state capital, Bhubaneshwar, which will provide a good avenue to firm up deals.Water sports, eco villages, and adventure activities are some thrust areas for investment.Odisha has been named as the 7th most-friendly state for investment by the World Bank.
