Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2016, the region’s leading travel industry showcase, concluded yesterday and Lama Tours and carfare group had very successful four days of business networking opportunities, insightful seminar sessions, new product launches and exciting summer packages for the residents of the UAE.
The show was officially inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai who was joined by dignitaries including His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group and Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General, Dubai Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing (DTCM) and Director General, Dubai World Trade Centre Authority.
Lama Group had a prominent stand at the hall no. 1, this year’s highlights were the launch of the 300,000 square feet Lama Beach Club located next to the Jebel Ali Hotel, the beach club offers team building activities, breakfast meetings, corporate lunches and also private beach experience to the residents. Lama also came out with special family holiday packages for the coming summer season. ‘’the residents will be able to get a lot of value add propositions while booking their summer holidays with us this summer’’ said, Kulwant Singh, CEO and MD of the Lama and Carfare groups. He further said “at Lama, we always ensure to enhance the experience of our visitors to the country and that they get best value deals”.
Lama have been in the region for more than two decades and recently conducted their four city annual road show in India, the cities covered were Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi and Chennai. They also opened their office in the city of Kolkata. The road show had 24 participants from the UAE, namely hotels, airlines, theme parks and excursion companies. They are very positive that Indian visitors will retain the no.1 position into the destination, as the passion for Indian travelers continues to grow, said Avtar Singh, General Manager for the Lama Group, The group will also be doing three major road shows in July, August and September in India, targeting the tier two cities said Mr. Singh.
Other new features at this year’s event included special packages for the Indian travelers, first time ever incentive scheme for the travel trade partners, where any agent from India if produces 290 room nights in three months get a fully paid trip to Dubai including stay, hotel, excursions, visa and all meals. We also have come up with special deals for corporate customers by launching the new Lama Hots Card (holidays on the spot), this new card is loaded with 25 new destinations around the globe that will provide unique experience to all our customers.
UAE’s dynamic tourism continues to grow, with the opening of so any new hotels, a wide range of new tourist attractions in 2016, including theme parks, Dubai Opera House and retail destinations across the country, we continue to enhance visitor experience and ensure a holiday with extended stay. Lama success have been the constant interaction with their travel trade partners through road shows, travel trade dinners, festival dinners and presence in exhibitions such at ATM, WTM and SATTE.
This year Lama garnered numerous accolades and recognitions at the Arabian Travel Mart. A number of hotels and excursion providers recognized their support; some of them were Golden Sands Apartments, Ibis hotels, Hyatt hotels, Al Bustan hotels. Lama also achieved a trophy from the Dubai Police for their continuous efforts to join initiatives of Dubai Police for safe and secure destination.
