High Commission of Malaysia in association with Tourism Malaysia celebrated “Eid Ul Fitr Open House” on 21st June 2018. This event was attended by Diplomates from various embassies, Media and people from Travel Trade. During the event authentic Malaysian cuisines were served to the invitees. Malaysia being one of the few countries in the world which has people from different backgrounds and different religions living together and celebrating festivals of each other with same enthusiasm as they celebrate their own. The country is known for its exceptional cuisine infused with spices and herbs that are deeply rooted in traditional home-style cooking, where fresh, top-quality ingredients are put together judiciously and the flavours of each dish speak for themselves.
Eid Ul Fitr Open House is a casual affair, where visitors mingle with other people and relish amazing Malaysian food together. In Malaysia, Eid is more commonly known as Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Hari Raya means “Celebration Day”. In Many part of Malaysia, pelita (oil lamps) are lit up and place outside and around homes as decoration. Special dishes like Ketupat (packed rice in leaf pouch), Rendang (slow cooked meat with spice and coconut milk), Lemang (glutinous rice cake cooked in bamboo) etc. are served during this day.
