Tamil Nadu has just upped its tourism game to offer more than a vacation experience to tourists and travellers. As per the latest reports, a farm in Thandikudi, an eco park in Courtallam, a farm at Devala in the Nilgiris, a giant orchard at Karumandurai, and a farm at Kallar near Mettupalayam, have been developed by the horticulture department, and can soon become your next getaway. Although immediate proposal will ensure a short visit, the next step will be to provide staying facilities to visitors.
The Karumandurai orchard is spread across an area of 419.77 ha, and is the biggest among the above-mentioned five, which is followed by Devala farm, spread across 80 ha. All these spots are close to forest areas, thereby making them ideal spots for tourists, and almost all of them streams going within its area.
Also, while Courtallam park might just turn out to be favouriteboasting of a stream with fresh otters, the location of Devalafarm will not disappoint you too, which is located in an area with around 3000 mm of rain annually, and where the average minimum temperature is 10 degrees Celsius.
All these farms have unique feature of their own, and can pass off as you dream holiday destination. The Kallar farm, is home to sub-tropical fruits such as, mangusthan, and rambattan; the one in Thandikudi, sits at 1350 m above the mean sea level in the lower Palani hills, is surrounded by coffee estates.
