The Signature Bridge at Wazirabad conceived as a tourist destination, will soon add to Delhi’s skyline. It is being built with a view to make it as a tourism hub and the landmark bridge of the city that is likely to ease traffic conditions for the commuters. Sh. Jitender Singh Tomar, Hon’ble Minister of Tourism, Govt. of Delhi and Sh. Ramesh Tiwari, MD & CEO, Delhi Tourism along with other senior officials visited the bridge recently to review the pace of undergoing construction.
The Minister expressed his satisfaction on the progress taking shape and said, “The bridge has a conceivable potential to develop recreational facilities for encouraging tourists to visit the site.” The main bridge is 675 m long asymmetrical cable stayed bridge. It has a Bow shaped steel pylon of about 154 m height, having 15 pairs of cable stays on one side and 04 pairs of back stays on the other side. The bridge has a concrete-steel composite deck 35.20 m wide. “The Signature Bridge will be an example of aesthetic elegance and would be made into a favourable tourist destination in Delhi,” said Sh. Ramesh Tiwari, MD & CEO, Delhi Tourism.
