CSMIA – Terminal 2 conferred Outstanding Airport Project for Infrastructure

The Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) a GVK-led company that manages the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), was recognised as the Outstanding Airport Project under the Infrastructure category at the 8th EPC World Awards, held in Delhi on February 7, 2019.

The EPC World Awards honoured outstanding performers in the Indian infrastructure sector by felicitating them at this prestigious event. MIAL’s efforts in the creation of the new terminal building of Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport was recognised. The airport was designed to deal with the city’s huge influx of visitors. Developed to accommodate 40 million annual travellers, the complex combines international and domestic passenger services under one roof, reducing customer walking distance and optimising logistical operations between domestic and international flights. While responding to the region’s economic growth, the project today also serves as a landmark gateway to the country that simultaneously celebrates India’s rich and diverse cultural heritage. MIAL continues to mesmerise the travellers with its state-of-the-art infrastructure, technologies and services; the terminal since the year 2014 has been conferred with numerous awards and accolades in the infrastructure sector and still continues to do so.

World Awards were designed to gratify the companies across the length ranging from Engineering, Procurement and Construction to Innovations and Tech displaying various marvels of the infrastructural sector. The audience comprised leading corporates, representatives from the government, financial institutions and thought leaders from the industry.
