In the past it was only “Air” as a category that had moved its prices, inventory, and reservation engines online, albeit sitting on legacy monolithic engines. Then came redBus (another ibibo Group’s business) that digitized the seller’s inventories and prices on the cloud and created a large online bus ticketing market.
In the last one year, accommodation owners have been enabled by Goibibo with mobile apps to manage their inventories, prices, content, ratings and reviews, accounts, payments and analytics.
Besides enabling digitization of inventory, the platform also enables distribution of hotels inventory across ibiboGroup properties as well as external constituents such as banks.
Survey from hotel owners reveals that Goibibo.com is the largest online hotels platform in India. Goibibo has helped hotel owners to improve all key metrics comprising (i) Occupancy rates (ii) Yields (iii) Growth rates and (iv) Online shares besides real time recommendations on driving improvements. Goibibo platform has grown by 5x year on year, both in terms of transactions as well as hotel listings. The volume of transactions and growth rates outstrip other players in the market.
